Connacht Crown War - May 3rd to 5th 2013

Thank you everyone that attended the first event at our new home. It was fantastic. Pictures will follow soon. The piglets wallowing was especially entertaining I must say. Congratulations to Sir Ormr for winning the Huntsman list, and to Page Dade for winning the Bowman's list... and kicking many of the huntsmen scores at the same time!! Fantastic shooting.

Secret Squirrel - April 27th 2013

Merritt held a small medieval fair in their area over the weekend. Unfortunately the weather and attendance for this event kept things on a smaller scale than normal.

Spring Fever - March 24 2013

Another beautiful day for Connacht and the members who attended Spring Fever on March 23rd 2013 at Oyama Hall. 

Before I get to any of the tournament results I would like to extend another warm welcome to our newest members. Having had a chance to talk with each of you, I know that you are going to be a great addition to our family and I look forward to spending more time in getting to know you all.

Medieval Madness 2 - February 10th 2013

Well we did it again...

Another year with another successful Winter Carnival Feast. This year we were able to sneak in a few more tables which meant more people to entertain and entertain we did. Rumour has it we won Best Adult Event. Thank you to all the cooks, dancers, fighters, servers, singers and everyone else who came out to help make this event another success. 
As always you make Connacht proud.

Art Symposium - January 13th 2013

Although one of our smaller events this year a great time was had by all. Classes in the line up this year were, Cheese making by Melora, Medieval Runes by Salix, Norse Beads by Adina and Arts & Science Judging by Melora. Thank you to the teachers and to those that attended.

Silent Knight 4 - December 16th 2012

"Viking Claus with the Children of Connacht"

This year we had Silent Knight 4, our Christmas event, in a beautiful hall overlooking Okanagan Lake. House Polaris' elves hosted and provided Connacht with a fun filled day of surprises and warmth. Sir Ormr put together some carolling books and members stood in the snow and lifted their voices in songs to celebrate the season. Dame Salix and Adelsdamen Melora even sang a special song 'Valkyries We Have Heard on High'! There were Reindeer games where several traditional Christmas tasks; eating cookies and milk, making paper chains, wrapping presents, snowflake cutting, and cookie decorating were set up relay fashion. Congrats to Rowan's team for the win! Throughout the event there was a fabric and garb silent auction with items generously donated by members of Connacht.  
Viking Claus made an appearance laden with sacks of toys for the good boys and girls of Connacht and with the help of a special elf provided the children with gifts much to their delight. The children had fun decorating cookies with Merwyn and then she was present beautiful rocks painted by the children and many other members of Connacht. These rocks will guard her amazing gardens come spring. Later on there was the highly anticipated secret Santa draw where competition can be fierce but well meaning. There were also several acknowledgements during the day. Sir Ormr and Adelsdamen Melora were knighted in the second level of Ministry becoming Knight Civils. As well, Cristof Fratello Porpora, was inducted as the premier member of the Order of Morrigan's blood. There was also a Knighting in memoriam for our recently passed member, Lady Christiana Elizabeth Constable. 
All of this as well as Archery in the snow and an amazing potluck feast (mmmm turkey). We always look forward to this event and this year did not disappoint. Many thanks to all the elves who helped and all the members who braved the snow to attend.
